Slowly, the wind rippled through the streets of a dark town, the night's breath pushing leaves to and fro. A sparse rain sprinkled down upon the cobbled pavement, bathing the world in its cold embrace. A rainy night, that's what it was, the sort of night where people sat up watching the rain from their windows, lights on in only a few windows, most dark but with eyes still watching. It was the kind of night where the meetings of the dark occurred. The meetings... mmmnyes....
A lone figure swept through the alleyways, his coat making rustling sounds as it brushed against his bare skin. He had to move quickly, lest he be captured, and he couldn't have that, could he? No, that wouldn't be good for business, not at all. After all, he was in a business that was very dangerous to those who weren't careful, a business that could get tongues cut, voices silenced, lives ended, if one wasn't careful.
The figure stopped at a street light's soft glow, the only light on the entire street. Slowly, he pulled his arm out of the coat sleeve and stared at his bare wrist. Late... he thought to himself, a long tongue extending from his mouth as he let out a hissing laugh. This would be the last time the man would be late, wouldn't it? The last time, yes...

Black strands of hair danced in the wind as a figure darted through the dark streets of the town, body trembling, lips twisted into a manic grin to match the crazy look in her eyes. Atra paused on a rooftop and started walking slowly, holding up her prized catch in her hands with a smug look on her face. The item was, of course, shiny.
"Mine" Atra purred, stroking the ring her eyes gazing at it in wonder, a soft giggle escaping her lips. Her tongue flicked out and tasted the metal and another giggle escaped before she slipped it onto her finger. Legs danced as she bounced in excitement and happiness. "I shall call you cherry!" Atra said, holding her hand out to inspect the ring. With the crazed grin still in place she jumped up once more before bouncing off along the rooftop.
Skipping to a halt, she jumped down into a dark alleyway, spotting a man under the only street lamp she skipped, her skirts russling and her heels making a "clip" "clip" sound as they touched the cobbled street. Pausing before him, looking very much like an innocent little child, Atra shifted her hand so her ring glinted in the street light. She gave a smug look and spoke.
"Who are you waiting for?"

A young child? Here? Now? How... delicious.
The dark figure looked down at the girl, who wasn't exactly little, but compared to the lengthy and lanky figure that was standing there before her, she might as well have been. Slwoly, a claw snaked out, reaching to grasp under her chin in a caressing way, not in a violent jerk. The tip of his claw brushed her cheek as he looked her up and down, eyeing her like... well, like a piece of meat, a piece of tasty meat, if he did say so himself.
Ah, but tonight was not the time to be devouring children wantonly. Tonight was time for a meeting, one which would be very short if the intended target did not show up. "My dear child," the figure said, his voice eloquent despite his horrific scarring and long tongue, "I am waiting for a man, no more, no less. I think the better question is why are you out in the dark streets alone. There are... dangers."
Indeed, dangers...

A loud, high pitched scream echoed around the town. Bouncing off walls and travelling to the two stood under the light. Atra’s wide grin twisted into a smug look. She knew what the cause of that scream was her. She had snuck into the room quietly and chopped off a large chunk of the ladies hair, it had been scattered along town on her journey here. After doing that, she had raided the ladies antique wardrobe and decided to cut off a bit of material on each item of clothing. Specifically around the chest area.
Then she had made off with the ring. Surprisingly enough she had managed to hold in her giggles until she had made it to the roof. Engrossed in her own thoughts Atra had completely forgotten about his question about why she was there. Instead she decided to ask him something else.
“Why are you waiting for him?” Her curious voice spoke, ignoring the claw that was currently grasping her chin and the hungry look in his eyes.

Why? Why, indeed? Well, that was a question whose answer was not available to young children at this time. So, the answer was of course, "Well, my dear, the poor man owes me a great deal." Yes, a great deal indeed. Perhaps he would lose fingers from his failures, perhaps he would lose his whole hands, or perhaps, just perhaps, he would lose something far more valuable. That would be unfortunate, wouldn't it?
Of course, that would all depend on whether he showed up or not. One couldn't remove important bits from a being who wasn't around to have his bits removed. "You have not answered my question, young madame," he said to the girl.

Atra giggled and held the ring up "I was being a naughty girl" She said with a grin then placed a finger to her lips "I was as silent as a mouse, they didn't even notice me" She looked smug and peered up at him with wide eyes and a smile "I'm not that young you know"
Atra, of course, being the person that she was, couldnt help her next words. "So are you going to hurt him?" She asked, eyes filled with curiousity.

"Naturally, naturally. I am very aware of your age, so fresh, so fine," he replied, running a finger down her cheek, "My dear, I am old. So very old. To me, a pretty little thing like you appears but a child." Of course, Atra's age, even by human standards, would be considered by some to still be that of a child.
Then, a noise, subtle and faint, the brushing of cloth on cloth, so inaudible it almost wasn't there. The figure whirled around, his hand leaping from Atra's face to the throat of the person behind him. Casually, he lifted the other into the air, his tongue making its way out of his mouth and around the other man's chin. "W-w-warren..." the man gasped, "P-ple-please..."
Warren set him down, but his hand and tongue kept their positions. "Not nice to sneak up on a man, don't you think, my dear child?" he asked Atra.

Atra grinned and giggled moving to stand next to Warren she peered up at the man with childlike curiosity her eyes scanning him for anything of value that she wanted "I think you should kill him" She said grinning and bouncing from one foot to the other.

Oho, little madame was a violent one, was she? "Kill him? But the dead are so much less useful than the living," Warren replied as he eyed his captive, the long tongue snaking out to drool upon his clothing. The other man's eyes widened in panic. Then, Warren said, "No, I think perhaps he can be of use," and the man settled a little. "That does not, however, mean that traitors can go unpunished." He held the man aloft, the captive's feet lifting off the ground, the rest of him immobile in a state of shock.
"I h-h-have what y-you want, W-w-warren. N-no need to get hasty, n-now." the man stuttered out, reaching into his pocket to draw forth a small orb, shining with a light from within.
"Oh, well, I guess you have some use, but I'm sure you know you're tagged," Warren said, taking the orb from the other man before drawing a claw along his captive's arm. Suddenly, the claw ensnared the man's arm, and a squishy tearing sound could be heard. "That... will fix the tracking signal." Casually, he threw the man's arm to the ground as the body the arm had formerly been attached to screamed in anguish and pain. The sudden tearing at the shoulder meant that the arteries hadn't been cut too much, but nevertheless, the whole left side of the man was now covered in blood. Warren snickered at the man, bringing forth a demonic gleem in his eye. As a final move, his claw touched the stump, the spot where it touched blazing with flame and cauterizing. The man let loose another scream of pain. At least the bleeding had stopped. "There. Consider my treatment better than what those bastards would give you."
